The History of Malayan Union

  

 

  Malayan Union and Persekutuan Tanah Melayu 1941-1951

                                             

          I believe that all of us know or must hear about Malayan Union right? But did we really know what it is all about? Did we know the real history about it? Let me share with all of you. Well, as everyone knows, Malayan Union was officially established by British on 1 April 1946 at King’s House (Carcosa Seri Negara), Kuala Lumpur and the first Governor is Sir Edward Gent. 

             

                                                  Introduction  to malayan union

                   Do you know how Malayan Union is established? Basically, when the Japanese rule in Malaya was ended, Malaya was dominated by the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) because during that time, there is no government take rule. Hence, the CPM causes the chaos and Malay was suffering for 14 days.                    

                                          

Then, British Military Administration (PTB) was saved the chaos after they succeed to eliminate the CPM domination, persuading MCP and MPAJA handed weapons and stop the fighting between ethnic. They also manage to establishing peace uphold the law. After successfully securing Malaya, the British Military Administration (PTB), led by Chief Public Affairs Officer Sir Ralph Hone administers the Malayan Union.
